Tansi! I am Dr. Karissa Brabant, and I'm the owner of Circle Medical Centre. I was raised in Regina, and moved to Saskatoon for medical school where I graduated in 2016. I completed my residency right here in Moose Jaw in 2019. My husband, son, and I are very excited to make Moose Jaw our forever home!
My family comes from Little Black Bear First Nation outside of Fort Qu'Appelle, where my grandmother was an elder, on my dad's side. My mom's side were settlers from England. It is my calling to help bridge the gap in health outcomes and access for Indigenous people in Saskatchewan. It is my hope that Circle Medical Centre will become a staple of the community here in Moose Jaw, a reliable and thorough access point for care for people from all cultures.
My interests lie in servicing marginalized populations - Indigenous peoples, immigrant populations and refugees, transgender and LGBTQ populations, and people struggling with addictions (I am still receiving training in this area). In addition, I provide abortion services, and am an assessor and provider for medical assistance in dying (MAiD). I also work as a hospitalist at the F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, and provide women's health and obstetrical care for low risk patients along with my colleagues, Dr. Caitlyn Howe and Dr. Amanda Waldner.
Hi, I’m Caitlyn Howe. I was born and raised right here in Moose Jaw. After graduating from central collegiate, I became the first person in my family to go to university as I moved to Saskatoon. I completed my first degree in anatomy and cell biology and then my medical school training through the University of Saskatchewan and my residency training in family medicine here in Moose Jaw. I love family medicine, and have a special interest in women’s health and obstetrics. I am so excited to be beginning my career in my hometown surrounded by family and friends!
Hello! I am Ava McDonald. I was born in Haida Gwaii, but call myself a Saskatchewan girl as my family and I moved from British Columbia to the town of Hudson Bay, SK when I was five years old. I did my first year of university at St. Peter's College in Muenster, SK, then completed my Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. I completed medical school through the U of S in Saskatoon as well.
As a medical student, I spent some time in Moose Jaw and enjoyed it so much, I came back to the "notorious city" for my two-year residency training in Family Medicine. In addition to general family practice serving a variety of ages, I have an interest in prenatal care and low-risk obstetrical deliveries; I will also be taking care of people admitted to the local hospital on a rotational basis. I am very excited to be starting my career as a family physician at Circle Medical Centre!
Howdy! I'm the office manager for Circle Medical Centre. I was born and raised here in Saskatchewan, originally from the small town of Carnduff. I moved to Regina where I finished my education obtaining a BSc in Computer Science and a BA in Economics and I worked for almost 20 years in the Oil and Gas sector. However, I left the Oil and Gas sector when I was lucky enough to find my wife, and move to the city of Moose Jaw.
I have always been interested in health care and medicine. I have a special fondness for dealing with our elderly patients and hearing some of their stories and experiences as well as hearing about their loved ones achievements and milestones.
I am looking forward to helping our new medical centre grow and provide healthcare for people in all walks of life. I want to make sure we are accessible and available for any member of the community and in so doing becoming a cornerstone of health and wellness in Moose Jaw.
Hi, my name is Becky Pittman. I'll be the one you'll talk to on the phone and will greet you at the front desk.
I have recently moved to Moose Jaw and am loving being in the city; close to my family.
I look forward to getting to know you!
I was born in Estevan, SK but was raised in Moose Jaw from the age of two. After graduating from RVCI, I ventured out to San Diego CA for an education degree. My daughter and I moved back ("they all do, right?!") in 2000 where I continued in administration, education and child development before entering the hotel and hospitality industry.
When I was young, I said I wanted to be a Nurse and I have indeed always wanted to help people. I may have taken the long way around, but I believe that being an MOA here at Circle is my "calling". Certified in Medical Device Reprocessing... "I fight dirty".
I am now a "Glam-ma" and I am excited the three of us have made Moose Jaw our home and that I have the opportunity to work with such a great group of people in our community. The clinic and staff are amazing! Good Health and Hygiene are very important to me as well as making you all feel right at home here in the clinic. See you soon!
